A look into my life as a builder with Lego, and how Lego has helped me build the flip side of my life.

Sorry!

I'm sorry for the holdup with my blog!!! I have created a new blog, called "The Secrets of the Brick", which can be viewed at thesecretsofthebrick.wordpress.com.
Well, I make have to make posts less frequently than once a day. Maybe once every two days.
So, I am taking a break for a few days. Bye!!!!!!

New Records, New Pages, and New Architecture!!!

Well, I still have many new updates for you all, that will benefit you and just help you enjoy this blog. I have added two new pages to my sidebar. Right under "Home", which is what page you're on now, are two new pages: "About Me!!!", and "My Lego Creations!!!". Both of these should give you all something else to read, and I should be adding more pages soon!
I also set a record yesterday for how many views I've had in one day. Since yesterday's post, it has gone up from 45 views to 68 in one day! That is very good for this blog. I'm hoping that my editing to make this blog more interesting, my more frequent posts, and my new possibility to share, to the right here, -----> is helping me get more views.
Also, Lego has released two new sets in their Architecture theme! They are sets #21009 Farnsworth House, and set #21008 Burj Khalifa. I think that The Lego Group has done a fantastic job on these models. They can be viewed, as well as the rest of Lego's Architecture line, here.
I want comments on how the new updates are!

New Records and Pages, plus news!!!!!

     News!!!!!!!
I have reached my record amount of views in one day on my blog. 45 views! I have it set where it won't track my own views.
Most of you are thinking, wow, that's practically none at all. Well, you're right, it is practically none at all. But I'm happy with it.
I  have also formed a new page, an about me one, which can be viewed on the side, over there, to the right, thing.
Also, if you have a Twitter or Facebook, you can share by clicking up top, to the right, under "Share It".
I also have a search box now, so you can search some topics you like.
I will be posting a new creation on July 2nd, so keep your eyes open for that!
I have submitted this blog to the "Brother's Brick", so this blog might be posted on their site under "Lego Blogs in English".
So, that's all the news I have. I hope you enjoy the new setup of my blog!!!

The LOTR 3 Contest Is Here: And I'm Competing!

I have exciting news for all of you people who are Lego builders out there. The Lord of the Rings: Return of the Kings competition, hosted by Ian Spacek, is here! The competition is played out by building a LOTR creation and posting to the group for the contest. It has to be done on an 8x8 baseplate and there can be no stud overhang.
I have already built my MOC for the contest, but it will receive third place at best. It's not very good, and I'm even considering taking it apart and making another one. It will be posted on July 2nd, the day that the contest starts.
But this is a milestone for me, my first contest!!!! I hope it gets third!!!!!
On another, more sad note, I went to look at Tennessee Lugnet today(that is a site where people talk about building and upcoming conventions), and no one has posted a comment in FOUR YEARS. So there goes me being active in Tennessee Lugnet.
I suppose I have enough on my hands, given managing two blogs, a MocPages account, building for contests, and just living my life. I am such a nerd.
Well, hopefully tomorrow I will have something more interesting to talk about.
     Bye!!!!!!!!

*Squawk* Dont Eat Me!!!

     It's time for another post!
I was supposed to post this tomorrow, but I simply couldn't control myself.
You might also notice I'm writing these sentences in paragraphs, so, there.
You're asking why I'm doing this?
     Because I'm crazy.
Anyway, I made a model a few days ago about a scene in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. It is where a poor Will stumbles upon a parrot in a jungle, where he is looking for his friends so he can steal their most treasured possessions.
Will smiles at it. "Ah, a familiar face!"
The parrot squawks "Don't eat me!"
"I'm not going to eat you," Will lies easily.

It's kind of a simple scene, really. Just Will talking to a parrot in a dense jungle. So yeah.

A simple view of the back of Will and the model. I made the trees so you know that they are there, but I don't have the pieces to cover them with palm branches and even if I did, you wouldn't be able to see the scene. They're taller than that, anyway.
My favorite part of this scene is the foliage on the ground. I tried to make it as thick as possible, and I think it turned out pretty well.
It turns out that the Island De Pelegostos set is one of my favorites! I like the dead looking palm branches! You can see a way I have used this piece if you scroll past this next picture, pass the hideous pictures of that strange vehicle, and then there it is.

A basic shot of Will. He is my favorite minifig in the Pirates of the Caribbean line so far.
So that winds up this blog post. I hope you like this creation. Most likely, more POTC to come!!!!!

My ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE Power Functions Vehicle!!!!!

Well, I thought I knew how to build with Power Functions. I was introduced to Power Functions through a gift at Christmas, the motor set with lights, switches, and a m-motor, along with a battery box, of course. Most of you know it as the Lego Power Functions Motor Set, #8293.
Well, after a few hours of overall frustration, I made this ugly thing:

It's HIDEOUS! My blood curls just thinking about this thing. It only runs about a half of a mile per-hour and breaks easily.

"You said we were supposed to go this way..............."

Ah, well. At least they're not being chased by a hoard of angry mummies on a motorcycle that want their golden Crystal of the Beasts back that the guy in the white shirt on the left seems to have stolen.

Things could be worse.
I am trying to draw traffic to this blog, but I'm failing miserably. It might be that I'm posting such ugly and useless stuff as this.

I'm back from vacation........well, new stuff time!!!!

Well, I'm back from vacation!!!! It was kind of a long one, I know, but I'm back now, and I have stuff prepared for a post everyday for a while.
On the way back from vacation, I read a book called "This World We Live In". It was a very sad book. But, anyway, it is about a girl's life in the world during an apocalypse, when the moon moves closer to earth when it is hit by an asteroid. This simple change brings tidal waves that destroy cities and earthquakes that destroy larger areas of the world. Volcanic ash covers the world so the blue sky is never seen and the plants start dying around them. Food becomes scarce, and of course, the girl's decision changes her family forever, blah blah blah, and it ends no better that it started. But it seemed like a perfect time to make an MOC, so I got up the morning after our getting back from our vacation and built this humble little scene.

I think it might actually be a good movie picture if they ever make this into a movie. I like the landscaoe much more than the girl, so here is a picture of it alone.

So I hope you enjoyed that!!!!! If you really do want to hear about my vacation, go to walkingonthenarrowpath.blogspot.com to see it. Thanks for reading!!!!

Some Cool Creations From Paul Vermeesch!!!!!

Well, I finally have some of Paul Vermeesch's creations! He builds some biblical creations, but I don't don't know if he is a Christian(if you read my other blog, you know I'm Christian Baptist).
The pictures don't do these models justice. I'm so sorry.
Here is one of his creations, not exactly biblical but religious. It's called "The Pilgrim's Progress".
This IS one of his biblical creations. It's when Jesus clears the temple, predictably called "Clearing the Temple". I love it! P.S. I'm sorry I can't make the pictures any bigger, but it messes up the quality.
This is just one of his normal awesome creations, called "Route 66".

This is one of my favorite creations of his, called "Angry Birds"!!!!! Since I love Angry Birds and(I'm sorry, I'm being braggy) I'm in the Top 5% of all Angry Birds players in the world(I'm like 47,000th or something), this is one of my favorites.

And now, for Paul's most popular, "Einstein's Study"!!!!! I like it(love it).

Paul, thank you SO MUCH for letting me use your MOCs on my blog. Paul Vermeesch gets full credit for all five of these creations, and you can see his creations here: http://mocpages.com/home.php/54098
Thanks again Paul!

Something New After All The Boring Stuff.

Well, I have abandoned this blog, and I'm ashamed. I have left my fellow followers hanging, and I'm sorry.
     BUT THERE'S GOOD NEWS!!!!!!
I am working on cleaning up my Lego room, and I'm going to post pictures of what I'm building. Even the ones who are only half interested in my blog will want to see this, because it will show also some of my new projects that I haven't released to MocPages yet because they are not quite done, and you will get to see some models I will never post to MocPages, the type I will tear apart after awhile.
I also asked Paul Vermeesch to allow me to show some of his models on MocPages onmy blog, and I hope he accepts! He builds wonderful stuff and I think he might say yes.
That's all for this blog post, but expect more soon, VERY soon.

U.K.D.A.!!!!!!!!

So, it has been a VERY long time since I have posted on this blog. But I have had good reason! I have made a group on MocPages called the United Kingdom Defense Association!!!
It is an alternative group to Dawn Forge, and I don't know if you know what group that is. If you know, the group I made is the members of the U.K. deciding to defend Great Britain and the U.K. against Dawn Forge.
I have been lacking on giving you all my MocPages account. Here it is:

     http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/70925

Lots of spaces! Anyway, that is my MocPages account stuff. To find my group go to mocpages.com and search "United Kingdom Defense Association" in the search box. Click on groups, and there it is! Feel free to join and add Lego creations!

My Collection is Soaked!

Well, I came home tonight, and it turns out that are basement is flooded by the flash flood that hit our area. I wasn't worried, this has happened before. But when I went downstairs, I found out that part of my collection is soaked!!! This includes my brown pieces group, my little brother's collection, and my rainbow box(this is my box where I keep pieces that I haven't sorted, to give me a little inspiration sometimes)!!! Now I'm a bit of a nervous wreck. At least I leave all my models on my table, so none of my favorite things I have built have been soaked.
This is a major setback for me. I am just going to have to give my collection a day and see what happens. Let's hope I don't have to trash the bricks; if anyone has any experience at all on wet Lego bricks, I would love some help from someone in the comments.

My New Mandalorian Speeder!

Well, I was sitting here, and thinking about that tank I had built. I thought it was awesome, but that the Mandalorains I have needed a vehicle, too, since my little brother plays with the tank and declares that the Mandalorians are outnumbered by the superiority of the tank. So I decided to build the Mandalorians a speeder, since I think the one that Lego makes in the set #7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack, is pretty pathetic.
So, I spent about 30 minutes on it this afternoon, and here it is:

And this is a custom(here meaning that the head and hair are from different sets)Mandalorian minifigure standing next to the vehicle, to give you both scale of size and the minifigure match colors(on the speeder).

I'm sorry, I know the front is blurred up a bit. Well, I just wanted to share that, and let people know that I am still building, even though my collection of bricks not on a model slowly grows smaller.

My New Tank!

I finished my tank! I think it is pretty good. Here it is:

The front has three areas slide out. The one on the left is a land mine storage area where you can store, well, land mines, complete with shovel. The one in the middle is the cockpit; it obviously controls the tank. And the one on the right is a missile storage area.

This is the back of the tank, closed.

It opens, revealing an area with two beds, two chairs across from each other with a table in the middle, and a small are for troop deployment.

This is just a simple view of an open are where there is a gun on each side. It is also an area that can be used to command the tank into battle.

Now this is a final view of the whole thing.

I think this is a pretty good creation of mine. The hard part was getting the front on the top to angle properly, but I think that in the end it gave it a nice look. My favorite part is the back hatch; it is just so fun to lift it up and down! But all of the front functions are very nice, too, especially the cockpit, which is very well detailed.
I interviewed my brother on this tank, and let him play around with it for about twenty minutes. He says that it has great features and playability, and he likes the design too.
And, of course, the color combination. It is one of my favorite parts. I just love the color combination of dark red, dark grey, and light grey.
Overall, I think that this tank turned out very well, and I hope that this draws you back to read my blog and see more of my creations!

Tanks and Treads........

I have finally found time to make a blog post, because I have been building feverishly for the past two days. I recently picked up some treads(just a few of you may not know, treads are the things that tanks roll on), so I have been building a tank with those treads. Hopefully I can post some pictures tomorrow.
So, I am up to one follower. Thanks, first follower! Just wanted to mention that.
So, today I went to my school that I go to every Thursday, and a friend of mine showed my a robot he is building. He is so good, he depresses me sometimes. He is the builder I hope to be when I get more bricks. I'm around 10,000 bricks; he's around 30,000, so there is an obvious difference there. He is a beast builder and I haven't seen one thing he's built that I haven't admired.
Here is something that I built recently. It's a small sniper robot in the desert that always sees you before you see it, called Desert Sniper Drone. I like some of the added details like the scorpion and the weeds(those are some of my favorite pieces). I hope you like it.
I hope you enjoyed this post!

New Lego Store!!!!!

I have really good news for anyone who lives in Tennessee!!! Lego is putting a Lego store in Opry Mills, which is opening in Spring 2012!!! I am very excited!!! The nearest Lego store(from Nashville)is around 250 miles away, so this is a pretty big deal for me. I have only been to a Lego store once, which is the one in Chandler, Arizona. I was there on summer vacation.
Well, I have good news to all of you who care about what I build. I am starting on a new project, a train, which will have Power Functions and run on Lego train tracks. I have no trains or tracks, so this will a step out for me. But hopefully it will be done soon(but probably not). I am not going to reveal the color combinations, so no one can take my idea, which, sadly, has happened to other people before. But once it is built, people will know if other people are stealing the idea from me. Now, I don't want to put the idea in people's heads that this is going to be some fantastic creation. I know people who build creations ten times as big as mine, and when you include master model builders, a hundred times bigger. But I hope it will be nice.
That pretty pretty much ends this blog post. Please take the time to go to the opening of the Opry Mills Lego store next year. Hey, maybe you will get to see me.

In the beginning.........

Hey! This is a blog I'm starting to give you all a look into my experiences as a builder, and to show off my creations, as well as to give people Lego news and a look into the sets I'm buying.
One of the things that might interest some people who look at this blog is I will post ALL of my creations on here. The reason this is special is that only 1/5 of my creations survive to make it to MOC Pages, and so you will get to see all of my worst creations, as well as some of my best.
I'm sorry that my creations are small. I only have about 10,000 bricks, and that is possibly stretching it in numbers. I do hope that you enjoy what I build, no matter how large or small.
I hope that you enjoy this blog, and remember, keep building!!!
